Kannada Rajyothsava 2020

St Joseph's School CBSE celebrated Kannada Rajyothsava in November with great pomp and vigor.
The entire event was conceptualized by the teachers of the Kannada Department under the guidance of the Principal, Fr Rohan D'Almeida SJ.
The celebration on 1 November 2020 commenced with the Principal, teachers, admin and support staff paying a floral tribute to Karnataka Mathe and the Principal sharing his thoughts.
Due to the current pandemic situation, a meaningful celebration was also organized on a virtual platform to enlighten the students, parents and staff about the significance of Kannada Rajyothsava. The chief guest of the celebration was renowned Kannada poetess/writer, Mrs. H R Sujatha.
The well planned online event commenced with a prayer dance followed by an insightful address by the Principal, Fr Rohan D'Almeida SJ which highlighted the significance of the day and the glory of Karnataka & the Kannada language. Chief Guest in her speech also spoke about the glorious history of our State, Karnataka and emphasized importance of knowing and speaking Kannada.
Students displayed their love for the state & language through various cultural programmes. Students paying tribute to the war heroes of our state remembering their martyrdom was a heart touching moment in the event. Kannada Rajyothsava wishes to our school, staff & students by several celebrities/artists from Film and Television industry such as Mrs. Priyanka Upendra, Mr. Mugur Suresh, Mr. Lokesh and Mr. Umesh added charm to the celebration.
Students participated in several virtual competitions which were organized on this occasion. The video clippings of the best performers/winners were collated and presented too.
The much appreciated online Kannada Rajyothsava celebration which was aimed at cherishing the rich cultural heritage of Karnataka and inviting everyone living here to share the spirit of oneness, peace and harmony, concluded with the rendition of our State anthem/Naada Githe - Jai Bharatha Jananiya Tanujate Jayahe Karnataka Mathe.
