Peace and Reconciliation Day

The Program was organized by St Joseph's School CBSE and other organizations such as: a) SCEAD foundation; b) Rotary Club (Bangalore Junction) c) FIT INDIA d) Embassy of Japan; e) THE INDIAN EXPRESS
The program started at 5:45pm with few refreshments arranged. Ms Sheeba hosted the program along with the Rotary delegates. The program began with the word of prayer done by Ms Sheeba and team. As the order of the program was as follows: Candle lighting- by St Joseph's School CBSE students Hiroshima and Nagasaki speech- by Mr Arun Speech by Provincial Fr Dionysius Vas SJ Speech by Principal Fr Rohan D'Almeida Instrumental Band- St Joseph's School CBSE students Rotary Club speeches- By Mr Jeetendra Aneja, Mr Siddharth Hamirwasia, Mr Hemanshu, Mr Ajay Bhauwala, Mr Fazal Mahmood. Speech by Mr Katsumasu Maruo on Hiroshima and Nagasaki Speech by Mr Kapoor on "PEACE" and Oath of thanks by Mr Siddharth Hamirwasia.
The St Joseph's School CBSE, SCEAD Foundation and the Rotary club of Bangalore Junction, observed the 76th anniversary of Hiroshima and Nagasaki Peace and Reconciliation Day and the remembrance of Late Fr P Stan Swamy. The students of St Joseph's School CBSE along with the event audience paid tributes to Fr P Stan Swamy.
The event also contained few cultural programs, were in the students of St Joseph School CBSE performed the instrumental band and few Rotarians who sang few melodious songs for entertainment.
The event was added with Japanese delegates, students and several members. The audience who participated in the program were asked to write few messages on peace and reconciliation at the end of the event, which was then said that these messages would be passed on to the Karnataka Chief Minister and the Prime Minister to appeal to the world leaders to not use nuclear weapons.
Mr Katsumasu Maruo, Deputy Counsil General of Japan on this event addressed the audience with few welcoming and surprising words in Kannada. He spoke about the importance of unity in a nation and the damages that were caused during the World War II and to the country of Japan. He brought the attention of how a nation needs to be resilient and can stand together in one thought and work towards the goal as a nation and bring in success and prosperity to gain peace in a country.
Finally, the Rotarian member Mr Kapoor and team brought in a brilliant ideas and address the audience about "PEACE" and the significance of it in every human being. Various examples and activities were also shown to the audience during the speech, he emphasized on the human "mind, heart and bodily aspect" that had the able to bring in peace within oneself.
The oath of thanks was given by Mr Siddharth Hamirwasia. He thanked all the sponsors, St Joseph Institution and the Fathers and the delegates of Rotary club.
Overall the event was very well organized and was well appreciated by many who attended this evening event.
