INDEPENDENCE DAY 2021-22

August 15, 2021

The 75th Independence Day was celebrated with great patriotism fervour at St Joseph's School CBSE.
The tricolour was hoisted by the Principal, Rev Fr Rohan D'Almeida SJ, in the presence of the Physical Education Teachers, the Coordinators, the Admin and the Support Staff around 8.00am on the school grounds and a floral tribute was paid to the portraits of Mahatma Gandhiji & Sri B R Ambedkar.
An Institutional level celebration was organized for the staff of St Joseph's Indian Institutions at the Quadrangle. The programme commenced at 8.30 am with the Chief Guest Lt. Col. Sanjeev Kumar, hoisting the flag in the august presence of Rev Fr Joseph Rodrigues SJ, the Rector of St Joseph's Indian Institutions and the Institutional Heads of Various units of St Joseph's Indian Institutions, members of the Inigo Sadan Community and staff. The meaningful celebration included an Inter-religious prayer Service, Significance of the day, Patriotic Song and a thought-provoking message by the Chief guest and the Rector. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks. St Joseph's School CBSE thoughtfully involved the students & their parents in the celebration via virtual platform through various events.

The following age appropriate virtual competitions were organized for the students by the staff:

  • LKG - Fancy Dress
  • UKG - Speech on the Freedom Fighters
  • Class 1 and 2 - Greeting Card Making
  • Class 3 and 4 - Patriotic Songs
  • Class 5 and 6 - Pencil Sketching
  • Class 7 and 8 - Collage
  • Class 9 and 10 - Poster Making
Parents were also encouraged to participate in competitions such as Fancy Dress and Vegetable Carving. Staff were encouraged to participate in Cooking without Fire Competition. Active participation of students and parents could be seen. A video presentation with Inter-religious Prayer by students, message by the Rector, Rev. Fr Joseph Rodrigues SJ, and the Principal, Rev. Fr Rohan D' Almeida SJ, patriotic songs and dance by students, speech by the Head Boy & a parent Ms Sibi Thomas followed by a melodious song by the Teachers' Choir was released on YouTube to commemorate the 75th Independence Day celebration.
