Kannada Rajyothsava 2021

St Joseph's School CBSE celebrated Kannada Rajyothsava in November with great pomp and vigour.
The entire event was conceptualized by the teachers of the Kannada Department under the guidance of the Principal, Fr Rohan D'Almeida SJ.
The celebration on 1st November 2020 commenced with the Principal, teachers, admin and support staff paying a floral tribute to Karnataka Mathe and the principal sharing his thoughts.
Due to the current pandemic situation, a meaningful celebration was also organized on a virtual platform to enlighten the students, parents and staff about the significance of the Kannada Rajyothsava. The chief guest of the celebration was renowned Kannada Indian Transgender Activist, Motivational Speaker and Singer Dr. Akkai Padmashali
The well planned online event commenced with a prayer dance followed by an insightful address by the Principal, Fr Rohan D'Almeida SJ which highlighted the significance of the day and the glory of Karnataka & the Kannada language. Chief Guest in her speech also spoke about the glorious history of our state, Karnataka and emphasized importance of knowing and speaking Kannada.
St. Joseph’s School CBSE also celebrated offline Kannada Rajyothsava on 24th November in School auditorium. The programme commenced with an inaugural prayer dance followed by lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries. The chief guest for the event was Indian Transgender Activist, Motivational Speaker and Singer Dr. Akkai Padmashali who encouraged students with her meaningful speech, along with actor and poet Professor Ambareesh, President of ‘We simplify’ charitable trust Mr Prem Kumar, Principal Rev Fr Rohan D Almeida and Treasurer of St Joseph’s School CBSE Rev Fr Vijay Raju.
Students displayed their love for the state & language through various cultural programmes. Students paying tribute to the war heroes of our state remembering their martyrdom was a heart touching moment in the event.
Students participated in several virtual competitions which were organized on this occasion.
The much appreciated online and offline Kannada Rajyothsava celebration which was aimed at cherishing the rich cultural heritage of Karnataka and inviting everyone living here to share the spirit of oneness, peace and harmony, concluded with the rendition of our State anthem/ Naada Githe - Jai BharathaJananiyaTanujateJayahe Karnataka Mathe.
