Teacher's Orientation 2022

A session on School and Classroom Etiquette was conducted on the 23rd of May 2022 for the students of class 9 and 10. The session was held in St. Josephs Indian Institution Auditorium from 11:00 am to 12:45 pm. The session was conducted by the school Physical educators along with the school Counselors and the special educator. The students were clearly given instructions and explained the school and classroom etiquettes, the Disciplinary rules and regulations to follow, the dos and the donts of the school, and the expectations of the students behavior at school as well as outside the school premises, etc. Overall the student's feedback was good and it was an interesting and interactive session.
Training on SENSOR BOARD installed in classrooms was conducted in two sessions on 23rd and 26th of May 2022 for teachers of class 1- 8. Sensor board trainer Ms Sumitha conducted the session. She informed about the specification of the smart board and accessories provided in tool kit for each smart board. Overall, the session was very useful for all the language and subject teachers to make their class creative and interesting.
Math training session was conducted on the 24th of May 2022. The session was held in Board room from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm. The resource person for the training session was Mr. Anil Kumar. The main agenda of the training was centered on the strategies we can use to make our math classes interesting and fun for the students.
A training session for Social Science Teachers was conducted on the 25th of May 2022 in the board room from 11 am to 12:30 pm. The main agenda of the training was centered on strategies we can use to make our Social Science classes interesting, productive and value based. The session was conducted by Mr. Narasimhappa, KAS.
The Orientation on Physical and Mental Health was conducted for all the staff on 27th MAY 2022 from 11am to 12:30pm. The resource person was MISS ANJANA JAIN who gave us tips on Physical Health to be followed in our daily routine. The programme concluded at 12:30pm with meditation which made everyone stress free, relaxed and refreshed.
On the 25th of May a training programme on for the English/Kannada/Hindi/Sports/Art/Music Teachers was conducted. The training intended to enhance the Teaching Skills, so as to cater to the next generation learners. A brief input was given on how handwriting, grammar could be developed and enhanced. It was an interactive session on teaching and learning process.
A training programme for teachers by Collins Publishers was conducted by Mr. Tarique Siddiqui on 30th May, 2022 in the boardroom. A thorough understanding of each textbook content, how to use it effectively, subject-wise, in terms of its approach and how it adheres to the National Education Policy was explained to the teachers. Information on SAFAL, NIPUN Bharat and FLN was also provided. The trainer also highlighted upon the significance of Sustainable Development Goals, the 4Cs of the 21st century and certain approaches such as skill-based interactive approach, experiential learning, flipped classroom, cross curricular activity approach etc. The training programme was highly insightful and was well appreciated by the teachers
Ms Lalitha Appachu gave an input session to the pre - primary team as prescribed in the work book on how to go about with the curriculum for LKG and UKG on 26/5/2022(Thursday). She guided the team with the books explaining about each topic. She also emphasized on activities to be conducted in the classes. She has given each teacher the content to use flash cards for each topic. Ms Appachu also shared tips and methods to teach rhymes, tables, stories and Phonetics. It was a very helpful and insightful session to begin the new academic year. Towards the end of the session Ms Appachu assured to guide the team throughout the year.
