St Joseph's School organized the Fun & Frolic Day for the Preprimary students on the 29th of July 2022. The event was based on the theme 'Food' to help the little Josephites to learn about healthy and unhealthy food through various activities.
The stage was on the school quadrangle decorated with charts relevant to the theme. The cheerful students came dressed in bright and colourful outfits.
Fun & Frolic Day witnessed the presence of the Rector of SJII, Fr Joseph D'Souza SJ, Principal Fr Rohan D'Almeida SJ, the Campus Director, Fr Stevan Gonsalves, and the Preprimary Coordinator, Ms. Poornima Krupa. The event was inaugurated by serving healthy dry fruits to the dignitaries, followed by a welcome speech by a Preprimary student. A student from each KG section gave a brief description of the importance of food, healthy and unhealthy food. A healthy food ramp walk by the little Josephites wearing the cut-outs of fruits and vegetables stole the limelight.
Hands-on activities such as paper collage, dough activity, identification of different spices, cereals, pulses, grains, fruits and vegetables, vegetable print, colour and sort the unhealthy & healthy food, etc., were conducted, alongside peppy music played in the background to encourage the tiny tots to dance their hearts out.
It was heartening to see the little ones enjoy, explore and learn about 'Food' in a fun way. The much-appreciated Fun & Frolic Day concluded with all the little Josephites taking home a handmade fruit basket craft.
