St Joseph's School along with PETA, launched Asia's first hyper-realistic life-size animatronic elephant on 12th February, 2025. Ellie is more than just a machine, it's a personalized companion that understands our needs, preferences and emotions. With its advanced natural language processing capabilities, Ellie can engage in conversations, answers questions and provide valuable insights on a wide range of topics.
The Principal Fr Rohan D'Almeida, Vice Principal Sr Sheena Joseph, coordinator Ms Roopa Roy, Media team, teachers and students of class 4 & 5 gathered to interact with Ellie.
The program commenced with a soulful prayer invoking divine blessings and setting a solemn tone. Our Principal, Fr Rohan D'Almeida highlighted the need to conserve and protect animals and to be kind towards animals through a story based on animals. The dignitaries inaugurated Ellie through a video presentation that showcased the creation of Ellie. Ms.Meenakshi from PETA, a relentless advocate for animal rights spoke about the importance of Ellie and conservation of animals. Ellie spoke to the students about the way animals are illtreated in circus and other places and had questionnaire session with students. The students took a pledge to save animals and to visit national parks and sanctuaries. Students of class 4 & 5 were enthusiastic and excited to participate in the Q & A session.
The event concluded with students speaking about their feeling and experience with Ellie.
