Children's Day Celebrtion

November 11, 2023

"A child is a beam of sunlight from the infinite and Eternal, with possibilities of virtue and vice, but as yet unstained." Children's Day is a special day dedicated to celebrating childhood and honouring the rights and well-being of children. St Joseph's School celebrated Children's Day on 11th November, 2023 at SJIPS auditorium. The celebrations began by invoking God's blessings through prayer and song followed by a homage to our first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. Children's Day holds a significant importance as it highlights the need to protect and nurture the well-being of children. This day is marked by various activities that focus on fun, learning and creativity. Our school organised competitions to engage children in a festive and enjoyable atmosphere. Cultural performances such as singing and dance by the teachers, admin and especially by our support staff was enthralling. Our Chief Guest for the celebrations, Siyona Vikram, is an award-winning Child Podcaster and Environmentalist and also the Co-Founder of Little-WISE urged the children to stop the use of plastic and grow more plants. She also highlighted about 'The Butterfly Effect' by which small changes in the atmosphere can further lead to unpredictable variations in the future. Our Finance Officer, Rev Fr John Lang Bosco, narrated the story of 'The Hare and the Tortoise' by which he highlighted that we live in a competitive world and for every problem we have a solution and a resolution to make. Our Vice Principal, Sr Sheena addressed the students by telling them how lucky they are to have vast opportunities and advanced technologies to support and achieve their dreams, but to use it wisely and at the right time. In conclusion, Children's Day is a day to celebrate the innocence, creativity and potential of children. The children thoroughly enjoyed and it was a wonderful celebration.
