A session on Zero Waste Management and composting at home was conducted by Mrs. Padma, CEO of Stone Soup Trust in the school boardroom for the classes 8 and 9.
A video on 'Sustainable living that starts in the kitchen' by Ms. Vani Murthy set session rolling on the right path. The students were given inputs on various topics such as Segregation of waste, Eco friendly disposables, re-usable materials, Pseudo eco-friendly examples, compost at home and decentralized composting during the session.
The session proved to be very informative and productive as the students got hands-on experience of composting.
As a follow up, StoneSoup Compost kits were distributed by the Principal Rev. Fr. Rohan D' Almeida, Co-ordinator Ms. Sherly Wilfred and Ms. Satya Vani to all the participants to inculcate the habit of generating own compost of organic matter in a hassle-free way, which is the first step towards growing safe and chemical-free food for our family and also to create a greener and cleaner neighborhood.
